The West Indies have unveiled a 15-member squad for their upcoming home Test series against Pakistan, highlighted by a maiden call-up for left-arm orthodox spinner Joshua Bishop. Bishop has demonstrated significant domestic form, having taken 91 wickets over the last three West Indies Championship seasons. Across his 25-game first-class career, he has accumulated 119 wickets at an average of 23.90.
The selection also marks the return of Jamaican left-handed batter Kirk McKenzie, who earns his first Test recall since 2024. McKenzie replaces John Campbell, who was ruled out of the series after sustaining a left hamstring strain during the recently concluded ODI series against New Zealand. Conversely, right-arm pacer Anderson Phillip has been omitted from the squad following his performance in the second Test against Sri Lanka, the team's previous assignment, where he recorded figures of 1 for 72 and 1 for 27 while failing to score with the bat.
Alzarri Joseph is notably absent from the roster, with the board confirming he was unavailable for selection due to personal reasons. The remainder of the squad remains unchanged, with Jomel Warrican continuing in his role as vice-captain under the leadership of captain Roston Chase.
The two-match series is scheduled to run from July 25 to August 6, with fixtures hosted in Tarouba and Port of Spain. The opening match at the Brian Lara Stadium will serve as the first-ever Test hosted at the venue. Both teams currently sit at the bottom of the World Test Championship table, with the West Indies having secured one win in ten matches and Pakistan recording one victory in four.
The full West Indies squad for the Pakistan series is: Roston Chase (capt), Jomel Warrican (vice-capt), Joshua Bishop, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Joshua Da Silva, Justin Greaves, Kavem Hodge, Shai Hope, Amir Jangoo, Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Kirk McKenzie, Keemo Paul, Kemar Roach, and Jayden Seales.
