She has currently been absent from the public eye for approximately one month.
This pattern of limited public engagement is not entirely new for the former first lady. During her initial time in the White House, her frequent absences prompted various conspiracy theories, including speculation regarding the use of a body double. However, recent reports from NBC indicate that her current schedule involves roughly half the number of public events compared to the same period during Donald Trump’s first term.
When asked about her schedule, a senior adviser noted that she “prioritises results over appearances.” Her most notable appearance this year involved a surprise press conference intended to discourage speculation regarding her relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, though the event ultimately had the effect of increasing public discussion about her connection to the late sex offender.
Despite the mixed reception of a previous film about her life—which received zero stars from a Guardian columnist, Arwa Mahdawi—further media content is scheduled for release. Mahdawi noted that the project failed to resonate, yet a companion docuseries is expected to arrive on Prime Video this autumn. Earlier this month, one of her advisers stated on the conservative network Real America’s Voice that the series will provide a deeper look into her career and philanthropy, though critics remain skeptical of her charitable endeavors.
