Actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Jamie Lee Curtis recently opened up about their shared living arrangements during the COVID-19 pandemic. Speaking at the premiere of Gyllenhaal's new military thriller, "The Covenant," the two stars revealed that Gyllenhaal and his girlfriend, Jeanne Cadieu, spent nearly a year living in a neighboring house owned by Curtis.

Curtis, who recently won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar at the 2023 Academy Awards, shares a long-standing connection with Gyllenhaal's family. She is close friends with his parents, director Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter Naomi Foner, and is also Gyllenhaal's godmother. Despite their lifelong connection, the pandemic provided a unique opportunity for them to bond further. "We’ve just gotten to know each other," Curtis told People, reflecting on the period they spent next door to one another.

During their time as neighbors, Gyllenhaal embraced several lockdown trends, most notably baking. Curtis shared that Gyllenhaal made a substantial amount of sourdough bread and regularly entertained the small household group. "He made a lot of sourdough bread, a lot," Curtis recalled. "So singing, acting, sourdough. And he did that test where you do a handstand against the wall and take your shirt off and put it back on."

Gyllenhaal confirmed that his interest in baking has outlasted the lockdown. "I am still eating sourdough," he admitted. "Yes. I haven’t stopped. Even though we’re out of the pandemic, I am still making sourdough."

The revelation came during promotional events for "The Covenant," a military thriller directed by Guy Ritchie. Alongside Gyllenhaal, the film features an ensemble cast including Alexander Ludwig, Antony Starr, Bobby Schofield, and Jonny Lee Miller.
