Multiple Palestinian children suffered severe breathing difficulties after Israeli troops launched tear gas toward an olive press in the occupied West Bank, while soldiers detained two young men during military operations in another village.
According to Voice of Palestine radio, the tear gas incident occurred in the town of Aqraba, located southeast of Nablus. Israeli forces discharged tear gas canisters directly toward an olive press and a civilian vehicle, causing several children in the vicinity to suffer from severe gas inhalation and respiratory distress.
In a separate operation in al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, Israeli troops raided a residential property and detained two young men. Video footage filmed by local activists showed military forces deployed throughout the village, including images appearing to show soldiers compelling a young Palestinian man to dismantle a national flag from a local memorial situated at the village entrance.
Incursions were also reported in other parts of the West Bank. Official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that military units entered the villages of Nabi Saleh and Deir Abu Mashal, northwest of Ramallah, where troops fired stun grenades into residential neighborhoods. No arrests or casualties were reported in those two villages. Meanwhile, near occupied East Jerusalem, the Palestinian Jerusalem Governorate stated that soldiers fired tear gas canisters and stun grenades toward vehicles lined up at a roundabout in al-Ram. The military also shut down the Jaba military checkpoint, resulting in heavy traffic jams across the surrounding area.
Further north, local residents clashed with Israeli forces during a military raid in the village of Madama, south of Nablus. The latest actions come amid a sharp rise in military operations and illegal settler assaults across the occupied territory since October 2023, involving fatalities, mass detentions, home demolitions, land bulldozing, property fires, and community displacements.
