Mason Greenwood appears destined for a move to Istanbul as he prepares for a medical examination with Fenerbahce. The development marks a significant shift in the winger’s transfer saga, as he had been a primary target for Roma, who viewed him as their top choice to fill the wide left attacking role.

Roma had reportedly been working on a financial package nearing the €50 million mark to secure the player. However, Fenerbahce pursued an alternative strategy by engaging in early negotiations with Greenwood, ultimately securing personal terms that include a salary of approximately €9 million per season—a figure described as vastly superior to other offers.

Reports regarding the exact transfer fee remain varied. While some Italian sources suggest a total package of €45 million plus bonuses, Turkish outlet Fanatik places the figure at €39.5 million, supplemented by add-ons that include significant payments should Fenerbahce win the Super Lig title. Furthermore, Turkish transfer pundit Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has confirmed that all contractual details have been finalized between Fenerbahce, Olympique Marseille, and the player.

Financial distribution details from Sport Mediaset indicate that Manchester United is set to receive 30 percent of the transfer fee, while a further 10 percent is allocated to Getafe, another of Greenwood’s former clubs.

The Giallorossi made no secret that Greenwood was their first choice for the wide left role in attack, and had been preparing a package close to the €50m asking price.
