An eight-year-old girl was seriously injured in a wolf attack at the Johannismühle wildlife park in Brandenburg, located south of Berlin. The incident occurred on Wednesday while the child was inside an enclosure along with a staff member and two other children. Following the attack, the girl was transported to a hospital via helicopter for treatment of her injuries.

According to reports from the German newspaper Bild, the child sustained head injuries during the encounter with at least one animal. Police have confirmed that the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation. No other individuals were reported injured during the event. Local reports suggest the incident may have taken place during a special visit before the park officially opened at 10:00 local time.

The Johannismühle park, situated in the town of Baruth/Mark, is home to a variety of animals, including grey and arctic wolves, brown bears, and lynx. In response to the incident, the facility has been closed temporarily. According to the park's website, it is scheduled to reopen on 2 November.

This event follows a series of recent animal attacks at wildlife parks and zoos across Europe. Earlier this month, a man was killed by a tiger at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, and a keeper at a Dutch zoo died this week after being mauled by a leopard.

It reported that the incident happened before the park opened at 10:00 local time (09:00 GMT) and that the girl could have been taking part in a special visit.
