Türkiye's Communications Director, Burhanettin Duran, has formally condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for utilizing the United Nations General Assembly podium to level what he described as "baseless accusations" against Türkiye and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Duran stated that such conduct is fundamentally incompatible with the "ideals of peace, law and dialogue" that the United Nations is intended to represent.
In a statement issued via the Turkish social media platform NSosyal, Duran highlighted the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant issued for Netanyahu regarding allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity in the besieged Gaza Strip. He asserted that the Israeli leader’s targeted remarks against President Erdogan do nothing to obscure the "massacres" or the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe within Gaza, nor do they diminish the significance of the proceedings currently before international law.
Duran further noted that the international community is increasingly aware of this situation, contributing to Netanyahu becoming "more isolated than ever." He emphasized that under the leadership of President Erdogan, Türkiye remains committed to defending the rights of oppressed peoples, including Palestinians, while advocating for a more equitable world order. Duran concluded by affirming that Türkiye will continue to stand firmly against injustice and oppression on the global stage.
