Zimbabwe Republic Police have stated that they have not received any official communication from UK authorities regarding Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, a 45-year-old man wanted in connection with a triple murder near Bedford. The suspect, who is also known as Mark, is accused of killing his 42-year-old wife, Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, and their two daughters, 15-year-old Natalie and five-year-old Nala. Their bodies were discovered at the family home on Monday after police forced entry following reports that the family had not been seen for several days.
Although Zimbabwean authorities have observed media reports and social media activity regarding the case, police spokesman Paul Nyathi confirmed that they have yet to receive an Interpol red notice or any formal request from UK police. Bedfordshire Police, in response to the situation, described the case as a fast-moving investigation and noted that they are currently progressing several lines of inquiry.
Tshuma, a Zimbabwean national, reportedly left the UK via Heathrow Airport on a British passport last Saturday. While Zimbabwean police are currently unable to confirm if he has entered the country, Mr. Nyathi emphasized that they are on high alert at all border points. He stated that officers are prepared to arrest the suspect if he is located and urged him to surrender himself to the police so that legal processes can proceed.
Meanwhile, earlier on Thursday, a family tribute was released for the victims expressing their gratitude for the prayers and support received during this time of loss. The family noted that because the circumstances surrounding the deaths remain under an official investigation, they are unable to comment further and are awaiting guidance from authorities regarding funeral and memorial arrangements.
"Nonetheless, we are already on alert and closely monitoring the situation and ready to arrest him.
"Your kindness and compassion have brought great strength to our family.
