Arsenal Sign Greece Winger Christos Tzolis From Club Brugge

July 24, 2026

Arsenal have officially completed the signing of Greek winger Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge. While the club did not disclose the specific financial terms, British media reports value the deal for the 24-year-old at £34 million ($45 million). Tzolis is set to fill the void left by Leandro Trossard, who recently departed the club to join Besiktas.

This move marks the third permanent transfer for the Gunners during the current window. The signing comes just 48 hours after Arsenal missed out on securing England midfielder Morgan Rogers, who opted to join city rivals Chelsea for a reported £117 million ($157 million), setting a new record fee for a British player. Following his move, Rogers publicly referred to Chelsea as the "biggest club in London."

Tzolis arrives with prior experience in the English top flight, having previously played for Norwich City. His professional journey began at PAOK Thessaloniki, where he helped the club win the Greek Cup in May 2021. Before his 2024 move to Club Brugge, where he secured a Belgian league title last season, he gained experience through loan spells at FC Twente in the Netherlands and Fortuna Duesseldorf in Germany. During his time in Belgium, Tzolis recorded 43 goals in 108 appearances and notably played against Arsenal during the club's 3-0 Champions League loss last season.

Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta welcomed the 34-cap Greece international to the squad. "Christos is an extremely versatile attacking player," Berta stated. "He's an excellent finisher with both feet, thrives in tight spaces, and possesses incredible technical ability. Christos has produced outstanding numbers in terms of goals and assists over the last three seasons. We're confident Christos will make a significant contribution to our club, and we hope our supporters will enjoy watching him play in an Arsenal shirt."
