The Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a firm statement on Monday condemning Israel for resuming activities along the "Sufa 53 line" situated near the occupied Golan Heights in Syria's Quneitra province. Ankara stated that these actions are intended to establish new faits accomplis within Syrian territory.
In its official response, the ministry declared, "We strongly condemn Israel's erosion of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement by resuming its activities along the so-called 'Sufa 53 line' in Syria's Quneitra province and its attempts to create new faits accomplis in Syria."
Ankara urged the international community to take immediate, decisive, and effective measures to halt what it described as Israel's expansionist policies, which it noted are escalating regional tensions. The Turkish government further called for ensuring Israel's withdrawal from occupied Syrian lands.
The statement emphasized that Türkiye remains committed to supporting Syria's political unity, territorial integrity, and sovereignty. Ankara pledged to continue taking necessary steps in coordination with other regional nations to address the situation.
