Overnight Ukrainian military strikes targeting the Russian regions of Rostov-on-Don and Belgorod have resulted in at least two fatalities and 12 injuries, according to statements from Russian authorities. Among those wounded in the attacks were two children.
In the Belgorod region, the local operational headquarters reported via the social media platform Max that one woman, who sustained a shrapnel wound to her temple, was provided medical care at the scene. The remaining 11 injured individuals were transported to hospitals by ambulance crews for further treatment.
The impact of the strikes caused significant property damage in the Belgorod area. Regional authorities confirmed that several flats in a residential building and more than 15 parked vehicles were set ablaze. While emergency responders were able to extinguish the fires, the attacks also resulted in the partial destruction of a private house and damage to several other apartment buildings. Officials stated that assessments regarding the full extent of the damage are currently ongoing.
Separately, authorities confirmed that an air attack on the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don resulted in the deaths of two people.
