Nine months after a severe leg injury prematurely ended his rookie campaign, New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo has returned to full practice. Beat reporter Art Stapleton, speaking on "The Pat McAfee Show," confirmed that Skattebo participated in a full practice session this week, showing no lingering effects from the ankle dislocation and open tibia fracture he sustained last season in Philadelphia.

"Skattebo had a full practice yesterday," Stapleton stated. "The idea of this gruesome ankle and lower leg injury from the Philly game last year is really gone. I mean, he looks a hundred percent. He's the No. 1 back on this team."

The Giants, who have relocated their training camp to The Greenbrier in West Virginia, are currently shaping an offensive identity centered on the ground game. With senior assistant Greg Roman on staff, head coach John Harbaugh is prioritizing a power running attack, believing it provides the best environment for quarterback Jaxson Dart to succeed. "They wanna run the football first; they think Jaxson Dart can be most effective in that kind of power running game," Stapleton explained.

General manager Joe Schoen addressed the team's health status during media availability at The Greenbrier, specifically dismissing concerns that a recent viral video of Skattebo attempting a backflip at Fanatics Fest had hindered his recovery. "He's good to go, I'm sure you guys saw the video. He's been busting his tail," Schoen said. He noted that Skattebo is still adapting to the high-profile nature of playing in New York City, emphasizing that the young player must remain mindful of his actions regarding both health and public perception.

Despite Skattebo's return to full health, Stapleton noted that the Giants may still look to add depth to the backfield before training camp concludes. Harbaugh is reportedly seeking additional insurance at the position, though any potential signing would be intended as a depth move rather than a challenge to Skattebo’s status as the starter. Skattebo had previously demonstrated his potential during a four-game stretch last season before his injury. With receiver Malik Nabers also working to return from a season-ending knee injury, the Giants are looking to a healthy Skattebo to provide a stable foundation for their offense as Jaxson Dart enters his second year.
