Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis has sparked a wave of criticism from NFL fans after asserting his status as a starting-caliber player in the league. During a recent training camp appearance, Levis was asked about his future as a starter and responded with a definitive declaration, stating, "100%. There are not 32 quarterbacks in this league better than me. I know that for sure."
The comments drew immediate and harsh reactions on social media, with fans labeling the quarterback as "delusional" and questioning his self-assessment. Many critics pointed to his recent performance record and current standing within the team as evidence that his confidence does not align with the reality of his career trajectory. Some fans mocked the statement by suggesting that there are dozens of quarterbacks in the league currently performing at a higher level than the former second-round pick.
Selected by the Titans in the 2023 NFL Draft, Levis began his rookie campaign as a third-string option before earning the starting role midway through the season. While he returned as the starter in 2024, injuries eventually led to him being replaced. After missing the entire 2025 season with a shoulder injury, Levis is now competing for a backup position against veteran Mitchell Trubisky, while Cam Ward has been designated as the team's locked-in starter.
Despite the setbacks, Levis remains optimistic about his professional future and is adopting a new mental approach heading into his fourth NFL season. He noted that his time away from the field provided a necessary reset for his nervous system. "I'm just focused on having fun," Levis said. "I needed that time, not just physically, but just mentally to calm the nervous system. Where I'm at mentally is in a much healthier place than it's ever been. I feel like I worked a lot for other people's approval in the beginning of my career. And whereas I'm just trying to be the best version of me at this point."
Throughout his first two seasons, Levis started 21 games, recording 3,899 passing yards and 21 touchdowns against 16 interceptions. Whether his confidence will lead to a resurgence or if his comments will become a lasting punchline remains to be seen as the 2026 season approaches.
