Indian Batter Pratika Rawal Joins Warwickshire for One-Day Cup

July 29, 2026

Warwickshire has officially announced the signing of Indian top-order batter Pratika Rawal, securing the 25-year-old’s services until the conclusion of the 2026 season. Rawal is scheduled to join the squad immediately, making her available for selection for the upcoming One-Day Cup match against Yorkshire, which is set to take place at Edgbaston on August 19.

Since making her international debut in December 2024, Rawal has established herself as an elite 50-over opener. In her career to date, she has accumulated 1,189 runs in 26 games at an average of 47.56. Her performance was pivotal during India’s 2025 World Cup triumph, where she finished as the team's second-highest run-scorer with 308 runs. This total included a vital century against New Zealand in a must-win match, though an ankle injury subsequently forced her to miss the tournament's knockout stages. More recently, she made her Test debut against Australia in March, contributing 68 runs in the second innings.

Warwickshire Women Head Coach Ali Maiden welcomed the addition, noting that the club is currently in a strong position in the One-Day Cup table. Maiden stated that bringing in a player of Rawal's caliber will strengthen the line-up as the team looks to finish the season on a positive note.

Reflecting on the move, Rawal expressed her enthusiasm for joining the club. She noted that she has heard many positive things about Warwickshire and is eager to help the team in any way she can. She added that she is looking forward to the experience of playing in England and is particularly excited about the prospect of walking out at Edgbaston, which she described as an iconic ground in world cricket.
