North Carolina Woman Reported Missing While Visiting Grenada

Elizabeth "Liz" Waddell has been reported missing after disappearing during a visit to the Caribbean island of Grenada last week, according to a report from July 26, 2026, at 4:01 PM EDT. According to the Royal Grenada Police Force, she was last seen on Wednesday, July 22, at Grand Anse Beach.

Local authorities have issued a public appeal for assistance in locating the missing woman. In a missing person poster, the police specifically requested that boat operators, fishermen, and residents living along the southern coastline report any relevant information or sightings that could aid the investigation.

Cailen Waddell, the husband of the missing woman, is traveling to the island to participate in the search efforts. In a statement, he expressed hope for his wife's safe return and asked for support, stating, "I am on my way there now to help search. I expect nothing less than Liz's safe return – so please sent [sic] your love, light, thoughts, and prayers our way." He also provided an additional photograph of his wife, who has blonde hair, to assist in identification.

The U.S. State Department confirmed it is aware of the reports regarding the missing American citizen. Officials referred all inquiries concerning the ongoing investigation to local law enforcement authorities in Grenada.
